Eaker, Amanda

Year of Graduation: 1998

Education: I went a total of three and a half years at Clarion University for molecular biology/biotechnology . I got a chance to spend an incredible semester at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland, where I didn't get much studying done, of course! I graduated from Clarion in 2002.

Information: I now work for the University of Pittsburgh's Pathology department as a research specialist with two other Clarion molecular grads, which has been a lot of fun. We are working on several different projects dealing with specific growth factors and their associations with insulin in type 2 diabetes, hepatitis, cancers, as well as several other cancer screening studies and cell signaling pathways. Other than all the boring stuff, I've been living in Moon for the last couple years, gradually collecting a new niece, baby nephew, and their older stepsister from Montana!

Work at Clarion University as a Fiscal Technicial in the Center for Advancement. Coached the cheerleaders at C-L 1991-2005 (loved it - miss it)

Information: This summer we returned to the US after living three years in England (my husband Chris is a Captain in the USAF). We have one daughter, Genevieve, and two dogs-- Gretel and Floyd-- both of which have frequent flyer miles!

Education : Received a degree in Secondary Education/Biology. I have been working at Keystone SMILES an Alternative Education Program in Knox. During the summer I run an Environmental service Program called SMILES Youth Corps.

Information: Married 13 years to Laura (Brent). Father of four children; Arianna, Tanner, Lia and Parker. We live in Tionesta where we all enjoy the outdoors through fishing, bird hunting, archery, canoeing, mountain biking, and more.
